Instructor-led, small group training for postpartum moms. We focus on pelvic floor & core strength and help you return to exercise!

What is Postpartum Foundations?

  • 6 Week Program

  • Led By Dr. Carly

  • 5 Women per Class

  • Newly Postpartum Women

  • Focus on Strength & Recovery

  • 2 Days per Week / 1 Hour Sessions

Postpartum Foundations is a group strength class for new moms! It's guided by Dr. Carly (Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist) and is designed to help restore your core and build foundational strength.

Not only does it prepare you for the physical demands of motherhood, but it will help you return to the exercise that you did before giving birth. You'll build strength, learn about your body and find support from other moms in the community!

How is this different than physical therapy?

Postpartum Foundations

We work with small groups of 5 women who are at least 6 weeks postpartum, and use full body & core strength workouts to help you return to exercise safely. We take the time to teach you proper technique and how to workout in a way that strengthens your pelvic floor.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

We use physical therapy when you have an issue in your pelvic floor that is causing specific pains or discomforts, and we need to treat you privately. Physical therapy starts with a consultation and then you are prescribed with a specific plan of care that can be shared with your primary doctor.

What Nashville Moms Are Saying

"So good I did it twice"

I had such a fantastic experience through Carly’s postpartum foundations course, I decided to do it twice! It was the first thing that got me out of my house postpartum for myself. The support and confidence with movement was so valuable, and the community & connection with Carly and other moms ended up being my favorite part. Highly recommend!

"Loved connecting with new moms"

Carly is a wonderful teacher. Her course was fun and educational. One of my favorite parts was connecting with other new moms! I love that Carly has a bunch of things set up for the babies who tag along (bouncer, pack n play, etc) or she will simply hold you baby for a while you get those reps in! Carly is passionate about this line of work and I highly recommend her postpartum offerings!

"Grateful husband"

My wife attended the postpartum class and absolutely loved it! As a working dad, it was incredibly helpful that she could bring our baby with her. The class made her feel confident, and she also made great connections with other new moms. Our family is so grateful for Carly and the amazing support she provided.

"Felt very taken care of"

Taking Carly’s Postpartum Foundations class changed my pp experience! I was ready to move my body but didn’t know what felt safe for me. Being guided by a physical therapist who understands the pelvic floor personally because she is a mom and who is professionally trained made me feel very taken care of. After the 6 weeks of classes I know feel so much more confident about working out on my own. I loved that I could bring my baby to classes! Highly recommend!!

"Feeling like myself again"

Carly is incredibly knowledgeable and tailors every single move to your needs! I didn’t start feeling like myself again postpartum until I took her Foundations class and I cannot say enough good things about it!

"You can take your baby!"

Amazing course. As a new mom, I learned so much and felt so confident getting back into strength training safely. I can’t recommend this enough! And being able to bring baby is amazing!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose between physical therapy or small group classes?

Both are great options. However if you are at least 6 weeks postpartum, have been cleared by a doctor to exercise and don't have specific pain or discomfort then our small group class is going to be a great fit for you!

What happens if I miss a class?

Let's face it, being a busy mom means that it is tough to stick to an exact schedule. We will work with you to make up sessions that you miss, and also will provide you with the workouts via an App so that you can do the workouts on your own as well.

Is 2 days per week enough to get in shape?

Yes! 2 days of strength training is a GREAT place to start, especially as your body is healing from pregnancy.

Will you help me with nutrition?

Absolutely! Dr. Carly does go over nutrition basics and helps our small group members make tweaks to their diets.
